Albany, NY \u2013 (April 25, 2024) \u2013 The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS), the certifying body for Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeons in the United States, announced that Dr. Gavin Setzen-President and CEO of Albany ENT and Allergy Services (AENT), the largest and preeminent private otolaryngology practice in the Capital Region, has been elected to serve as a director of the ABOHNS for a 5-year term starting in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Setzen, MD, FACS, FAAOA, FARS, who haspreviously served as the President of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), the New York State Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission CT Imaging (IACT), was originally certified by the ABOHNS in 1998. His most recent recognition reflects the many contributions he has made to the field of otolaryngology over the decades, including the medical and surgical management of nasal and sinus disorders, otolaryngic allergy, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and point-of-service CT imaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has also published numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and delivered frequent presentations and lectures both nationally and internationally. In addition to his leadership post at AENT, Dr. Setzen serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Albany Medical College and Chief of the Otolaryngology Division at St. Peter\u2019s Hospital, St. Peter\u2019s Health Partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
