Most CT exams last 5 to 10 minutes. You will have time to ask the technologist questions prior to your exam. Once the images have been obtained, they will be sent electronically to the radiologist, who will interpret the exam and generate a report for your doctor. You should follow up with your healthcare provider as directed to receive the results of your CT.
CT does use radiation to acquire the images, but our Siemens Go.Up scanner uses a function called “Care Dose” which automatically delivers the least amount of radiation necessary for quality images. The amount of radiation changes as we scan so that the dosage is tailored for your unique body type.
If there is a possibility you may be pregnant, please call the office at (518) 701-2085 as your exam may need to be rescheduled.
