Albany, NY – (February 3rd, 2022) The mission at Albany ENT and Allergy Services (AENT) is to serve the ear, nose, throat and allergy needs of all its neighbors in the Capital Region. Being the preeminent private otolaryngology practice in the Capital Region means many things. At AENT that includes superbly trained physicians offering a broad range of services, unparalleled patient satisfaction, and countless honors, accolades and medical industry recognitions.
It also means leadership in innovative and cutting-edge research that expands the treatment of disease states.
And once again, AENT has demonstrated just that.
Dr. Gavin Setzen, President of AENT, recently co-authored “Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatographic and Mass Spectrometric Characterization of Lipid-Rich Biological Matrices─Application to Human Cerumen (Earwax)”. It discusses a study which, for the first time, analyzed compounds found in cerumen (earwax) that will aid in better understanding the difference between healthy patients and those exhibiting various disease states. “Earwax is an extremely common condition”, stated Dr. Setzen, “and it is my and my colleague’s belief that being able to better understand its component parts will ultimately help us diagnose and treat patients suffering from a broad range of diseases.”
