Albany, NY—The Albany Ronald McDonald House offers 25 private guest rooms for families whose children are receiving critical medical care far from home. Each room is uniquely themed and designed to provide a comforting respite for as long as it is needed. On average, it costs $2,000 per year to cover the housekeeping and maintenance costs for each room, ensuring that they are ready for every new family who comes to stay.
Last year, AENT adopted a room with a gift of $2,000 to cover those annual costs. When the ‘Secret Garden’ room needed urgent repairs between guest family stays, this support made it possible to keep ‘The House That Love Built’ ready for families in need.
This year, Senior Partner Dr. Nora Perkins, CEO Lauren Ayers, and Marketing and Communications Manager Jennifer Brandt had the pleasure of visiting the Ronald McDonald House to see firsthand the impact of AENT’s support. While visiting, the team was able to see the “Safe Harbor” bedroom adopted by AENT for 2023.
Adopt a Room donors allow RMHC of the Capital Region to provide the comforts of home to more than 300 guest families each year. To learn more about rooms currently available for adoption, visit rmhcofalbany.org/adoptaroom or contact Sue Nigra, Major Gift Officer, at (518) 438-2655.
