President of the Region’s Preeminent Private Otolaryngology Practice Selected as a Member of AAO/HNS’s Inaugural Class of the ‘Hall of Distinction’
Albany, NY – (September 23, 2021) – Albany ENT and Allergy Services
(AENT), the Capital Region’s largest and most advanced independent ear,
nose, throat and allergy specialty practice, is proud to announce that its
physician president, Dr. Gavin Setzen, MD, FACS, FAAOA, FARS, has been
chosen by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
(AAO-HNS) as one of only twelve inaugural inductees into its Hall of
Distinction. This grouping includes six ‘pioneers’ and six physiciansincluding Dr. Setzen-still in practice.

At AENT, Dr. Gavin Setzen not only provides superior medical and surgical
care to his patients but has also spent his career advocating to improve
healthcare and access at state and national levels. Dr. Setzen’s association
with the AAO-HNS is extensive, ranging from Chairing the Board of Governors
to serving as AAO-HNS president, from 2017-2018. During his tenure he
advocated for many patient centered issues, education, and research in
Otolaryngology, here in the United States and globally. As president, he
initiated the Future of Otolaryngology Task Force which became vital during
the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Setzen and his fellow inductees will be honored during the annual AAOHNS meeting on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at 3:30 pm and participate in a panel discussion “How Can the Past Inform the Future?”.
Dr. Setzen sees patients in AENT’s Albany office, located at 123 Everett
Road, as well as the practice’s newly opened clinical site at 1785 Route 9 in
Clifton Park.
